Delegation gets dose of 'legislative' reality

AUSTIN--It was Burnet County Day at the Texas Legislature on Thursday, but
if members of a 37-member county delegation to the Capitol were looking for
news to brighten their day it was in short supply. The county legislative
agenda is far from being approved. . . .
State Sen. Troy Fraser said he thinks the news on the Pedernales Electric
Cooperative is going to get worse.
"The concern I have is I'm not sure we've found all the bad (at PEC). I
think there are some buried bodies we haven't found," he said. "Once we
start the indictments, which I think they are close to, once they bring
people before the grand jury, I think there are people that are going to
start talking and telling us about things we don't know about."
Fraser said he suspects PEC officials "misappropriated or stole close to $50
million over the last 10 to 15 years.
"It's unbelievable," he said.
