*Too much sympathy*

Re: Dec. 15 editorial "Seeking white-collar justice."

Your conclusions might be reasonable, but you really need to be a little
less sympathetic to these criminals and a little more concerned about
sending the right message to others who hold positions of trust.

Bennie Fuelberg extracted a huge amount of money from the Pedernales
Electric Cooperative and its owners. In lieu of jail time, he should be made
to pay enough in restitution to at least make a small dent in his bank
account, and he should certainly be forced to accept forfeiture of any
retirement benefits from the co-op.

Further, both Fuelberg and state Rep. Kino Flores should be given an
adequate opportunity to reflect upon their disservices to their communities
by requiring them to serve the community in some positive way, such as
personally cleaning up a section of a state highway long enough to wear out
a good pair of boots.
