[Watchdogs] Directors represent PEC or TEC?

Well I guess contrary to what you all say when you want to be elected Directors, you do not believe in being fiscally responsible. It seems you are trying to avoid hurting TEC feelings by letting bids.
Excuse me, but you all work for the PEC OWNERS - We want and expect you all to be fiscally responsible. Go ahead and let TEC push their case BUT line up some other suppliers to also push  their case and then and ONLY then make a decision on to whom the Contract should be let. THAT IS BEING FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE.

  1. Do Our Directors Represent PEC or TEC? (On Rescinding a    2002
Fuelberg Directive on Buying from TEC without    Competitive
      Bidding) (Milton Hawkins)

Friends,

Watch the video of Monday's Board meeting, about the 3:30 point, where the
directors are discussing a resolution (copied below) to rescind Bennie
Fuelberg's directive that PEC purchase major items from Texas Electric
Cooperatives (TEC) without bidding, and ask yourself whom the directors are
representing, PEC or TEC.

After expressions of tender regard for TEC ("We are their business model."
"TEC is dependent on us." - Larry Landaker), and a display of confusion
about the effect of a newly adopted purchasing policy, the resolution was
ultimately withdrawn.

As a result, though it has now been declared "moot," the Fuelberg directive
lives on at PEC, and TEC, an organization that has worked consistently
against extending basic rights to member-owners of cooperatives across the
state, is to be invited to come and make its case for its favored position
as sole-source provider for poles, wire, and transformers, the major items
PEC purchases.
