Good Afternoon:      I am Paul Langston.  I appreciate the chance to talk to you-all, once a month, for three minutes.

I want to welcome the new General Manager, Mr. Sloan, to Pedernales Electric Coop. 

Mr. Sloan, you will be the very first General Manager-CEO,  that did not come out of the Fuelburg stable.

I trust that you have your special costume out of the cleaners, the one with the blue tights and the flowing red cape.  Friend, you are really going to need it.....while you are bounding over tall buildings and running faster than an Express train,      and hopefully, bringing some order to PEC.

Regretably, Sir, you are going to find a never-ending supply of shocks and "jaw-dropping" amazements.  You may well wonder just why you asked for this job.  

I understand that you will be well-paid.  This is a coporation of super-well paid employees and executives.  Our PEC people are possibly the highest paid work-force in  Texas.

This corporation has been under the domination of ONE family for more than 60 years.  They paid well to insure silence and compliance.  Bennie Ray Fuelburg, who is waiting his appointment to go to jail, lavished money, our money, on his subserviate Directors.  He lavished money on the employees, on  this town of Johnson City and on this Blanco County.  Bennie never forgot his faithful friends in Austin.  He only asked for compliance and he got it.

The Owner-Members of this Coop have not been so lucky.  We could only watch as the candy store was emptied.  We are stuck with a 730 million dollar debt.
